These questions were posed to me via a chain email. While intriguing, I couldn't bring myself to respond and forward to 25 of my closest and dearest...I will put them here, however, for whoever might happen upon this blog...I think they're taken from the so-called Proust quiz...

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? Obsessive rumination on something about which you have no control.

What is your idea of earthly happiness? Unceasing awareness of Grace

Who are your favorite heroines in real life? Gentle religious sisters who minister to the poor, loving mothers of children with special needs

Who are your favorite heroes of fiction? Joe Gargery (Great Expectations)

Who would you have liked to be? A doctor with Medicin Sans Frontiers

Who are your favorite characters in history? The Samaritan woman by the well; Martha and Mary; Simon Peter; the Buddha

What do you most value in your friends? Interesting conversation

What is your principle defect? Catastrophizing

What is your favorite color? The deep green of a fir tree after a rain

What is your favorite flower? At the moment, Moonflowers

What is it you most dislike? Greed, corruption, and war-mongering

What historical figures do you most despise? I don’t despise anyone – I am convinced that historical figures who would make this list are suffering enough.

What event in military history do you most admire? I don’t admire any event in military history. I admire the spirits that conceived of the League of Nations, the UN, the Olympics, the concept of One World

What reform do you most admire? Desegration, recycling, women’s suffrage

What natural gift would you most like to possess? Infinite patience

How would you like to die? Quickly and painlessly

What is your present state of mind? In flux and changing
